Moebius Original Cylon Raider

By Sam Sprayberry

I received the Moebius Original Cylon Raider in the mail on a Friday. I was surprised at how big the package was when opened. The two halves of the body took up the whole box! Being a Moebius kit, it practically went together on its own. And it only took two days to complete and paint! Some warning is warranted: the engine exhaust has clear parts in it. If you are painting these parts separate from the rest of the ship, be sure you leave the two body halves un-glued. You can't just pop the engines in. You have to separate the body. I found this out the hard way.

I painted mine to simulate being in battle numerous times with Colonial Vipers. I am pretty proud of the results. The only thing that disappoints with this kit is the stand. It is very flimsy and doesn't inspire confidence.

I plan on buying another and painting it in an aluminum color. I'd recommend this kit in a heartbeat.
