Frosty Finnish Finish

By Randy Kloko

I have a personal penchant for re-arranging MiG-21's, mainly because I like the resulting technical description: staggered delta parasol canard tail-dragger. This one is a hypothetical Finnish ice skimmer, in aggressor squadron markings and sporting orange practice missiles, on some frosty morning before scooting out over the tundra for war games. Bring an ice-scraper!

I once saw a picture of an F-84 undergoing freezing tests. It was covered with ice, just like last century's TV dinner. I made a note to see how the fake spray snow they sell at Christmas would look on a model. This year, I finally remembered to buy a can, and here's the first result.

My advice: use sparingly and from a distance. It's not like paint. Put on too much, and it takes forever to dry, and when it does, it's the consistency of talcum powder. For all I know, it IS talcum powder. While it touts itself as 'environmentally friendly', there's no list of ingredients.
