Martian Tripod

Just wanted to share a couple of shots of my War of the Worlds tripod. I modified the legs by turning the fittings at the base of the the thing upside down so that each leg would arch upwards instead of away from the body and down. Coat hangar wire was used for the bends, and cut pieces of plastic straws fitted into each other to form flexing armor hid those wires. My lighting system was the usual electrician's nightmare. But the big LEDs produced some great lensflares in my old film camera! I also replaced most of the kit tendrils with my own wire for better posing. Image: Lights Image: Legs Image: Front
