Eagle

By David Pearson

A brief history about the Imai Eagle kit, originally purchased back in 2002. I was horrified by how the kit looked built straight from the box, so I began the modifications.  Basically, I scratch built the cages, interior modules, and main landing gear with all the used kit parts being heavily modified.  That model was sold and lost in shipment by the Post Office. I then built a second model for the same customer, but this time made molds of the scratch built and modified parts.  The second build, modeled as a Rescue Eagle like the first, has a removable Passenger Pod, which the first did not.  Since then, I've built a third, a VIP Eagle, and these are the pictures I'm submitting at present.  The display base and backdrop uses a modified base from the first kit, and a copy of an illustration of Earth in space from the Apollo 8 Moon mission. This VIP Eagle was auctioned at a charity event, Alpha: 2014, a convention held in the UK.
