VelociRapper

By Al Petrie

The discovery that dinosaurs had been cloned was suppressed for many years, but once a T-Rex had run amok in San Diego, the world wanted to know more.  Humans were wise enough to leave the "Jurassic Park" located on a remote island alone, but the Velociraptors there were awfully clever.  Soon, they had determined how to operate some of the equipment left behind by the humans, and eventually, they began to experiment with dance music.  Remote cameras placed by palentologists for observing the dinosaurs led to the stunning discovery in 2007 of an amazing event: The very first Veloci-Rapper! Soon record labels were fighting to sign these creative, yet deadly musicians, up and a new era of rap music had begun.

I depicted this amazing event in cross-species cultural exchange with the Lindberg Velociraptor.  Bling added was from model ships' chain and paper rings painted gold. The turntables, pickup arms and base were scratchbuilt. I found the pose of the Raptor be be odd, almost as if he was holding a basketball, and I almost made it as a Toronto Raptors player, but when I looked at what his claws appeared to be doing if rotated 90 degrees, well, the funnier option was this.
