USS Honshu

By Erick Munoz

This is the sister ship of the USS Kyushu, the USS Honshu. The USS Honshu has a few modifications to her basic design to allow for different science labs and sensor packages. The reality is that I misplaced a couple of the life boats on the top when I was adding them, which are made of one of those 'membership' cards you get from music clubs. The pods are made from sheet styrene and some 1/72 phoenix missile halves. The bridge is a resin cast from a 1/1400 Ent-D, but the rest is from the 1/2500 Ent-D and sheet styrene. The nacelles were made from two sets and sanded to match. The pylons are mostly sheet styrene with the curves coming from the 1/2500 model. The secondary hull was lengthened with some more sheet styrene that was curved to match the shape. I used decals from the 1/2500 model with some custom decals from McDaniel Models. The windows are all decals except for those on the bridge and the large windows on the bottom. (Those took FOREVER!!!) It's my first kit bashing project and I really love it.
