This model was made by kitbashing the R/M Starfury with a 1/72 scale Airfix SEPCAT Jaguar. The construction photos show how the Airfix kit was cut in half then glued to the 'fury hull. The wings of the Jaguar became the tail surfaces, the afterburner cans became Goss cannon mounts. The bulges on the cockpit sides were made from 1/72nd scale F-15 conformal gas tanks. The lower laser cannon (under cockpit) was made from a 1/72 F-15 gas tank half with a styrene tube lens assembly installed into the notch cut out. The canopy was made out of styrene sheet, the windows are black decal sheet cut to shape. The markings and ordinance come from various airplane kits and the EA flashes were printed with my ALPS on decal film. |
