Eldar Super Heavy Weapons

Group Shot

These shots are of the Eldar super-heavy weapons, sculpted by Armorcast from the designs seen in the Warhammer 40,000 games by the British-based Games Workshop. Cast in polyurethane resin, the Eldar are one of the player-species represented in the quest for universal domination.

The first weapon is a Phantom class Titan, standing around 22 inches from feet to wingtips. The main armaments are the multi-shot super-heavy pulse laser on the right arm and the heavy heat lance on the left, both with a firing range that can easily target and destroy enemy tanks or fortifications. Secondary weapons include a single-shot lascannon and a 10-tube missile launcher.

The second mech type is of the Revenant Scout class, with one missing the rear jumpjets. The Scouts are equipped with dual multi-shot pulse lasers and a six-shot troop-killing scatter cannon located under the pilot's compartment, which is also flanked by 3 missile bays. Both classes are very nimble, and are protected from enemy fire with a sophisticated holofield, which breaks up the Titans' visible image into tiny shards of light, effectively making it difficult, if not impossible, to hit the unit.

I chose the darker color scheme for my Eldar for a couple reasons. Games Workshop said all Eldar favor bright clean colors, but I'm usually partial to the darker, menacing schemes, with only the crystals adorning the body having any kind of glossy sheen. Plus, this "clan" of Eldar society is driven overall by a burning hatred and revenge over what its fellow clans have endured (you have to play the game to fully understand) and I wanted the colors to reflect that emotion.
