[Hawk]

[Millenium Falcon]

[BttF DeLorean]

The Eagle was one of the original release Airfix kits that I inherited of one of my friends somewhere around 1995 who had had it for years. When it came to me it was in a few pieces, no landing gear and in general it was in a sorry state. I ended up taking it completely apart and rebuilding it from scratch. I had seen a few articles in Sci-Fi & Fantasy Modeler showing how some guy was building a large scale Eagle, and after digging around a bit managed to get hold of the articles, primarily for the pictures. The landing gear was built from scratch, the pod was modified using plasticard and various other things out of my scrap boxes. I carved out the framework, adding additional stiffeners where required to make it look like the original item, made a fast pack from out of my scrap box, added added extra piping etc in amongst the framework, a little bit to the engines and in the end it was finished. When i found out that they were re-releaseing the kit i was very tempted to buy a few and make a few other Eagle variants, but i coudn't bring myself to go through all that hard work again.

The Hawk is straight from the box.

Kryten is the Sevans release of 1993/4, the limited edition with the groinal hoover attachment. It was bought by one of my friends who gave it to me to build, specifying the pose. On the whole it was quite an easy model to make, no significant problems, although the hands had to be reset to hold the hoover and to be insulting. Painting was done using various car spray colours for his suit, and various flesh tones were used to build up his face. A couple of years after building it, it was given back to me as a present, and is a favourite model with the public when i take it to model shows.
