USS Jericho NCC-70636

By Chris St. John

USS Jericho, NCC-70636, Genma-class. Named for the walled city sieged by Joshua and the Israelites. Big, a bit nasty-lookin', but designed as a medium-to-long-range explorer, like the Nebula-class. Yes, I DID name the class after Genma Saotome from "Ranma," and yes, I DID affix all those lifeboat hatches myself. I was tired of merely painting them on, so I marked out a sheet of 2200 or so 3mm x 3mm hatches and cut off the strips as needed. I "notched" them to curve the blocks & then affixed in place. This was the trial run & I think it turned out quite well.

I built her using the saucer and nacelles from the 1/2500 Galaxy and the secondary hull from the 1/1400 Voyager. As always, she's built in 1/2500-scale, but the nice thing is that using the same parts, it can be built as a smaller ship in 1/1400-scale...OR, using the larger parts, be built as the SAME ship in 1/1400-scale.
