Scratchbuilt Space Explorer

By Charles Henderson

I had this scratchbuilt model for more than 12 years now and its still going strong. I had a lot of friend ask me was it a kit I told them no! The models is made from, well I'll start from the front the ball is an old earth globe with adding machine tapes on it. Next to the back of the globe is a part off a Gemini section and a part of plastic rods. The center piece is Styrofoam. The radar dish is an old part of Apollo; the tanks are electronic junk. The engine housing is [5in] PVC tubing. Attached to it is ceiling fixture. The huge engine is monster truck rim.
