Scratchbuilt Transport USS Omaha

By Charles Henderson

The year is 2102. Now that the world is faced with over population, the nations have put aside their difference to colonize space for the common good of the people. The Omaha Transport was designed to carry cargo, supplies, and people in cryo-chamber (to survive the long trips).

This model was constructed using Plexiglas, and several guages of styrene (0.10, 0.20, 0.40). The antennae are copper and plastic tubing. The surface detail comes from aircraft carriers, planes, tanks, star wars models and a lot of balsa wood. The side hanger bays are made from light fixture lenses. The project took about a month. The base is balsa wood so it won't hurt the model.
