"Tranquility Base, here -the Eagle has landed" This is Heller's 1/100 Lunar Module kit. Scratch-built detailing includes ACS exhaust shields made from sheet styrene and brass wire, landing leg actuators made from styrene rod and a docking port made from a section of styrene rod shaped on a lathe. The 2½ inch tall LEM's ascent stage and landing legs are covered with Bare Metal Foil. The descent stage is covered with Rolo candy gold foil wrappers. (Yes, I ate them all, but some sacrifices are necessary for the hobby!) The display stand is a resin "Space Base" moonscape by Plastic Things. |
